Role

Concept Design and Feasibility Study

Status

Concept Design

Location

Koh Samui, Surat Thani, Thailand

Project

Samui One Resort is a concept-stage hospitality development in Koh Samui prepared as a feasibility and architectural concept study. The site comprises a sloping coastal plot with defined topography and landscape constraints. The programme includes guest accommodation, shared amenities, and supporting back-of-house functions. Design Consultant Group was appointed for architectural concept design, site planning, and feasibility coordination.

Planning is organised around a central courtyard with integrated water elements. Accommodation blocks, public areas, and circulation are arranged to establish clear spatial hierarchy and operational separation. Building massing follows curvilinear alignments responding to topography and setback controls. Terraced decks resolve level changes and support efficient structural spans. Sectional organisation separates arrival, communal spaces, and accommodation while maintaining clear service routing and fire compartmentation.

Elevation / Façade / Arrival

The envelope is derived from courtyard planning and sectional relationships. Curved glazed walls define spatial separation between circulation and water elements while maintaining visual continuity. Upper volumes are recessed to reduce perceived mass and integrate landscape buffers. Balustrade systems are transparent to maintain sightlines across courtyards and terraces.

Ground access is aligned to primary arrival levels. Public circulation fronts the courtyard. Service and back-of-house access are segregated. Operational boundaries between open and semi-open areas are maintained throughout.
