Concept Design
Location
Wat Ket, Chiang Mai, Thailand
The Project
CCA Residences is a residential proposal in Wat Ket, Chiang Mai which is structured around a linear central courtyard and a water spine. This design enables climate responsive circulation and creates an evident communal hierarchy as well as controlling privacy and overlooking units in a strategic manner.
In our initial-stage feasibility, the focus was on structural buildability, unit efficiency and strict shading performance to provide clarity in the long-term operations and viability in development.
The Urban Interface & Façade
The architectural identity of the project is formed by the primary street level, which is characterized by a series of stacked residential volumes, expressed by recessed balcony and vertical shading structures. The composition is anchored on a clear ground floor lobby which supports arrival readability, as well as pedestrian connectivity.
The facade strategy represents a measured combination of visual density and controlled transparency, which is developed to respond to the scale of the urban environment and achieve particular passive daylighting and privacy goals.
