The Project

Miro Residences is a mid-rise residential project in Suthep, Chiang Mai, which was carried out under a full design and construction appointment where all technical aspects were controlled throughout construction to project completion. It is planned around a central amenity courtyard with the use of layered facades and shaded circulation in order to provide maximum climatic responsiveness and long-term operational performance.

The design incorporates the site topography and the footprint of the building creating a high-performance residential environment with structural clarity and environmental stability.

The Façade & Performance

The facade is defined by a constant horizontal datum and a built-in vertical shading systems so that solar control is very accurate and that a visual order is maintained. Repeat and proportion were refined together to achieve a balance between expression and constructability as well as economy were of paramount importance in architecture.

Transparency at the ground level is applied to determine permeability of the sites, and upper residential levels are being used to provide thermal comfort and privacy using deep openings and strategic screening.
