The Consulate Hangdong
Role
Concept Design and Feasibility Study
Status
Concept Design
Location
Hangdong, Chiang Mai, Thailand
The Project
The Consulate Hangdong is a concept-phase residential development in Chiang Mai, which is designed with a feasibility-based design process that investigates massing strategies, arrival hierarchies, and the various typologies of residential. This is accomplished through the architectural language, which blends formal civic allusions with scale planning of the resort scale to establish a unique and authoritative project identity.
This strategic analysis assesses site capacity, circulation logic and amenity distribution to offer a stringent guideline of development feasibility and the consequent detailed design stages.
The Arrival Concept
The major arrival path is planned as an official entrance, with the help of a free-standing architectural feature and framed landscape boundaries to create a definite orientation of the general road. The spatial arrangement is planned so as to evaluate, scale, visibility, and automobile geometry, which will guarantee efficiency in operations and readability of approach to the residents and guests.
The arrival strategy supports the conceptual narrative of the project and maximizes the aesthetic presence of the project in the Hangdong urban context by focusing on a dignified civic character.
