The Project

The Mountain Pano Residences is a finished mid-rise project in Mueang Chiang Mai that was implemented under a Local Design Architect contract with an emphasis on negotiating complicated statutory approvals and technical delivery. The structure is designed with a logical grid of structure and it applies the articulated balconies and vertical screens of sun control in consideration of the particular needs of the local weather and privacy of occupants.

The strategy makes the facades very durable to high performance and operationally efficient during the lifecycle of the project.

The Façade Strategy

This elevation analysis reveals the main residential facade, which is marked by a row of stacked balconies, and factored in vertical screening systems. The architectural structure has the repetitive structure and depth to counter the solar heat gains and ensure the interior units have maximum natural daylighting and cross-ventilation

On the ground plane, there is the screened interface which helps create a strong plinth condition as the residential mass is raised above the landscaped setbacks and the streetscape around.
